Emi Yusa Cosplay and Costume by KuriCurry
Character and Series Emi Yusa is the lead heroine in Hataraku Maō-sama! or loosely translated, "The Devil is a part-timer" Emi Yusa is literally, "The Hero" in their world (Earth exists here as well as a separate universe of dragons and demons) It's a sadly under appreciated anime here locally. It's not the usual good versus evil story where it is easy to decipher between the two and take a stand. It's comedic, and makes you see the possibility of goodness in absolutely everyone. The whole philosophical thing aside, it's refreshing and funny. The story isn't too heavy although the anime could've done without some of the fan service, But hey, am not complaining. The Cosplay:Storms, lack of rest, early day work, and even a storm Honestly I have this mean streak of my FQ costumes having so many trials. Aside from the fact that I couldn't even get out of the house while getting a day off from work to get supplies, my wallet was also suffering immensely. But in the end I guess, everything fell into place. (Though I was suffering while wearing the costume- Follks, ask for help when you don on armor. "OTL )

"Deep Sea Girl" by Hatsune Miku is seriously a weird yet catchy song. Am not sure if I'm to take the lyrics literally or not. But hey, it makes one think unlike most of the english blurb we get here locally from radio stations. Click here for the video and song. Fantasy Quest is but 4 days away, and I spent last week making this costume instead. XD I should seriously whack myself silly for thinking that an armor for Emi Yusa is doable within the week. (And said week is rainy as hell and I have a day job too) Emi Yusa is my character choice for a convention in the Philippines this coming Saturday (Fantasy Quest 3) Details here. Lastly, you must know that I AM NO EXPERT. I simply learned through watching and looking at the works of other people. I have my own style and own mistakes. And with that said, let's move on:
I keep my life as simple as can be, more or less I dislike complexities and I always say what's on my mind without being rude. Although these are tips regarding hobbies, I think generally it's a good way to keep things as simple with most things in your life. I don't think it's impossible, we just have to get rid of the lies and negative feelings. (Easier said than done perhaps, but it's better to try than sulk about being miserable I say) We love things to different degrees, from our friends to types of food and to the things we spend time on. It kind of sucks that there aren't a lot of people who are open minded enough to STOP ARGUING about how to look at things. If someone doesn't agree with you, just RESPECT them and move along.
So honestly, I hope that in a hobby as creative as cosplay we have a lot of more people who are much more accepting. Having a debate on who's right ONLINE will not help you earn money or finish your homework. Technology has changed vastly, but you still have only 24 hours in a day. So SPEND IT WISELY. Although my life ain't perfect, I seriously hold on to the faith of being good will lead to good things. I believe in bits of good luck and ultimately just the fact that inside each of us, there are honest individuals who would choose what's best for everyone if need be. (though of course I am not ignorant enough to deny evil as well) But that aside, some good things happened to me. And although I've already given 'some things' back by donating books, and a bit of my time I also wanted to give a little to the community I love. So if you're a resident of the Philippines, and you know the anime the past seasons? Get your game on, and guess the series, and full character name of the characters I have and will cosplay. Goodluck ! And I wish you an awesome life! Because everybody deserves that.
Cute Emi Yusa in her "angel" or "hero" form
Emi Yusa, or quite literally the "Hero" in the anime "Hataraku Maō-sama" or translated in english "The Devil is a Part-Timer" Series Summary: I think it's best shortened into, dimensional travel wherein people from a medieval period with a mix of magic and demons get transported into "Our world" or the year 2012 and have to live as 'normal human beings'. When I say normal, the very base definition as in working, finding rent making documents and daily budgeting is taken into consideration in this anime. Which is fairly interesting. The series already ended though, and I've never read the manga. My cosplay progress:
You might not even know her (give the manga or the series a try! It's worth it) , but she's a really interesting character with a certain 'depth' to her. Though when I say 'depth' I don't mean the complexity of a human being of course, that's hard to achieve but she has grudges, and inadequacies that are just adorable. She's pretty clumsy to boot!
For a commoner like myself, life goes on and chores need to be done even if I am sick. No one else would do it otherwise. It doesn't help that I'm OC really, it's frustrating to have to put everything back or clean up even when I'm feeling this miserable.
Anyway, Better health to you! Whoever you are. |
