We all have those days, wherein we hardly even put on makeup..we didn't even know the difference between direct flash and having ambient light (Although that technical aspect of lighting isn't really something you need to know it helps in terms of ambiance)
Not perfect: But aiming for it We all improve gradually
Not at the same rate, but we all do... just keep that in mind and stop looking at other people and comparing yourself. There are a lot of differences between people. (Circumstances/ resources like money and time) they all differ. And it would only cause you a load of stress and maybe even a bit of sadness if you do. So just take it at a stride! Study whenever you can regarding the components you see yourself as lacking. Save for that "One big photo shoot",or that "one big costume project" that am sure will be worth all the time. If you're not seeing any improvements in your final output? Maybe try re-thinking whatever your into, in this case cosplay. If you aren't really interested in seeing better results or going over your own limits...don't expect better results.

Making it affordable: Bluntly put, at around 6,000 pesos you can already get a high quality blade of your own. You can go look that up, compare it, and find that this is possibly one of the best offers for this sort of quality. I like the fact that they cater to two markets, as they have the cheaper alternative to the pricier hand forged beauties. Mainly their swords go through 6 stages:
They are what they sell:What do I mean? The owners know what they’re doing, they know the processes, the differences in metals and they obviously love what they’re doing. An easy example of just how much they love the craft is when there was this FB user who commented on ‘why’ their machine made blades are cheaper—plainly he stated that it’s because of the metal they use has carbon. And that it rusts easily, and then came their reply. (They give out an extensive article about “Carbon-content” in steel here. But basically the higher the content, the harder and long-lasting the edge is for example 1-1.5% is what a Nihonto contains) I rummaged through FB and couldn't find it anymore, but I remember it so much that I had to put it here. Basically the conversation went something like this: FB User: The metal they use have carbon in them and rust easily, that's why it's cheap (Or something like that) As I read that comment I was happy that they made someone know their place. There isn’t anything wrong with stating facts if you REALLY KNOW what you’re talking about. There’s nothing wrong with correcting people and giving out opinions either. It’s just that, too bad for Mr FB User, Sir Aldwin wasn’t going to let it slide. In any case who would? I can’t stress it enough, they KNOW what they’re doing and they’re amazing that way. Some sellers would just slap on the word “Authentic” and hope you’d buy it. With them it’s different; I even learned carbon metal content and hardness, real’ katana or a Nihonto against souvenir blades.
Personal Wishlist:This is ranked from your left hand side to the right: The left being a sword I still regret not having/saving up for...probably will carry that regret to my grave. Seriously look at that red blade...it's like a blade made up of blood! While the 2nd one being Saber/Arthuria's Excalibur as my target...am still figuring out how to get my hands on even the machine forged beauty. 3rd to 5th on this list are whims...heck a girl can dream.
Short but sweetA Wrap-up:
Interested in owning your own glorious fantasy blade? Or adding to your collection for cutting practice? Where: They’re located in Mandaluyong City, Philippines How: They do meet-ups and only ship LOCALLY for now Price: Prices vary from 6,500 onwards Quality: Doesn’t get better than this Authentic: If by 'authentic' you mean a Nihonto...well the productions of these are regulated and will cost you an arm and a leg to buy. Their swords are high quality though and as is thoroughly explained in their website, it is forged as close to the traditional means as possible. Hanggang payong ka na lang ba? Or rather, Will you only ever own an umbrella with a plastic sword hilt? And if you’re getting one, maybe grab one for me? Haha…nothing wrong with wishful thinking Aside from Matoi, which would be started this week There's two others that will be started early this year: Trying out this thing called "patience" Usually, I spend a week on a costume...but right now I have been delaying a lot of my costume projects for the sake of thinking things through and hopefully getting better results with the final output. Nothing wrong with rushing, but then again the discomfort with trying to fit all of the pieces together (And wearing a hardly finished outfit) is straining. So in regards to the Saber Lily Gift version, I've always wanted to cosplay it but as my chance to do so came and went. I am going to try my luck with her this year. No group to tell me who to cosplay (No offense of course, I loved doing Saber Alter) and dropping all fears of being compared. As in anything in life, there would always be better cosplayers out there. But at least I can say that I love it more than most without doubt. :) Cosplay is a hobby that I love to bits, and I am thankful that most people understand that. Happy St. Valentine's guys, nothing special for me as I have work and shall just have some nice dinner (Plus some sweets from bosses random good friends and then some who are closer than most)
We naturally stick to what we like -- Even when we don't mean to, you would probably have a collection of same wig colors with varying styles. Naturally, we have our 'identity' and we know what naturally looks nice for ourselves. (So don't ever lose this to critics or even friends giving you their opinions -- remember! They're opinions, take them at face value. It's up to you how you want to do this hobby) But again, the opposite doesn't hold true -- but then again am pretty sure there will always be that ONE color you like wearing the most. As for me, it's blonde, green (mostly Miku and CC) and silver. It was a hard battle between the blondes: Len versions, Saber versions, Krista, Mio and a whole bunch of others but in the end Saber Alter won out the spot. I'd love to see your Wig Color Meme! :) I can give you a copy of the template I used if you wish (Or I'll update this soon with a download for it) Pick your valentine: (Kidding)Catching something 'real' but unplanned.
Sometimes life gives you a bit of a reward and we caught this beautifully painted horizon. That's not edited guys, it's really just that pretty. Nothing beats the 'real thing' This photo still brings back the feeling of witnessing something so pretty. Though, it was freezing cold there at that time and I had to pose. But that's hardly any issue really. |
