What it's about:
Komrad features dishes from Sichuan and Hunan in China
Though the restaurant in Eastwood is a little cramped for my tastes (The spacing per table doesn't seem too comfortable specifically when there are several groups of people dining inside)
The steamed siomai are seriously tasty. And they're really big! You can order it with cumin if you're into spicy food or not if you just enjoy good old regular siomai. There's 4 pieces per serving, and we basically order this as appetizers. But in the end we got around 5 or so orders.
The spicy beef soup was really nice as well. I enjoyed the tenderness of the meat and the slightly sweet sauce combined with a little heat. I usually dislike spicy dishes but this one was just 'right'. It was really savory and it was nice and hot! I loved all the tastes I was getting from it.
We've always been a sucker for Japanese fried food, as most of the time it doesn't really fail your taste buds. It's straight to the point dining with viand, drinks.
Service, Ambiance, Menu
The first time we got there, their service was seriously above par. We came in lunch time, on a weekday and it wasn't too full nor was it completely empty. The menu was decent. It offers seafood, meat, and poultry everything standard to a Japanese restaurant.
I really like their service tea, and the water they serve is really refreshing. It has cucumber slices and some lemons in it, and they usually serve it to you once you get to your table and order.
I did a little research, and it seems this restaurant is known for it's balance in service, food quality and ambiance. Which really shows through! They even have a feedback form via sms that the servers would oblige you to answer if you felt like it.
Philippine Branches are in:
Mall Of Asia
New Glorietta, ground floor
200-500 php per meal
Not much for ambiance, as this is in the open area of Glorietta 4.
It makes up for that with the variety of the menu. It's really lovely, and they serve quite fast for something close to fine dining.
The servers are nice, and the food was good. I loved the beef I ate the first time I got there.
2/F Glorietta 4
Ayala Ave Ayala Center, Makati
What first caught me was really the bright white curtains and the effort that was put into making an ambient like this work. I really like stores that go the extra mile like this one! It really defines a good "dining experience"
I took these shots, so please don't edit out my watermark if you need them. You can simply email me or contact me through the contact tab and I'll even give you the high-res file. All you need to do is ASK! >_<
Operating Hours: 10:00 AM - 9:00 PM (Assumed that it's Mall hours)
Store Location: Glorietta 4, 3rd floor (Near SM Makati entrance/exit)
Contact No/Website: Not available yet (I'll update it as soon as they get one)
After a fond shoot of Asuna Yuuki's imprisoned form from sword art online, we were definitely all quite hungry. We stopped by Solenade, and realized there were cheaper food alternatives just a few blocks away after we already had our fill, oh irony.
Our small "merienda"
If you're not familiar with the term, "Merienda" basically means 'snack'. Although in truth that was the best meal I had that day as we all possibly just slept when we all got home. For someone like me who eats a ton, this was seriously not enough, but the sleeplessness at the least was brushed off!
In comparison though, I honestly like Mexicalli's Quesidillas a whole lot more. It has more taste than these. It felt as if it was toned a whole lot! Plus, the second dip Army Navy had didn't really pique my interest. Although of course, the salsa dip is always a favorite. Really loved the tomatoes mixed in a hot wrap.
I basically liked it. Not a fan, but will eat there again soon. The fries are interesting, the texture and the slight spiciness was good while it was hot. The combination of Coke and of course our snack was pretty good!
Though I wanted to taste the chicken, they were out. "OTL So yeah, I was forced to settle with this.
Mother's Crepe or "Mazazu Crepe" was ok.
Although, comparing it with Krazy Crepes which offers the same kind of product it pales in comparison.
Anyway! We tasted Jasmine Tea and Chocolate as well as the Premium Choco Banana Crepe and the Deluxe Choco banana crepe.
It wasn't the best idea to eat something sweet, then drink Jasmine tea. All your left with is the aromatic fragrance Jasmine tea has, which isn't too pleasant.
Mother's Crepe or Mazazu Crepe
2/F SM Mall of Asia, Entertainment Mall
Pacific Drive and Ocean Drive, Mall of Asia Complex
Pasay, Metro Manila, Philippines
All in all, the crepe was ok and the drinks were good enough for the price. But we wouldn't really go back there. The experience wasn't as different and I don't see anything different from this shop that would warrant my loyalty.
My favorite dish ever in Teriyaki boy
What bothers me about this store is that, the portions, sizes and the way some of the dishes are cooked are different PER branch.
The Philly Cheese Steak roll is the best at the Glorietta 3 Branch,
It's really tasteful, and recently they've been serving the dishes properly.
Soup first, appetizers and other dishes for the tummy for first, then the main dish after together with your drinks.
Chili's Philippines has REALLY big portions. XD
Do not let the shitty font used for the logo fool you.
The service is top class, the ambient is nice and the place is above average. There aren't a lot of people going to cheesecake etc so I really like it there.
But if you're a fan of really loud cafes with a hell lot of people-- then this place is not for you.
Their pricing is similar to Starbucks, Bo's Coffee and whatnot, but the taste of their chocolate drinks are BETTER.
Why? Because there's a lot more chocolate in it then sugar. I get a sore throat with the Starbucks drinks, besides the buzzing headache from all the people there.
We tried " Choco Mint Seduction " and "Ghirardelli Almond Roca". It was 150 per drink in a rather tall glass. It's WORTH IT. I still crave for it up to now. The chocolate isn't too sweet and the mixture of whipped cream and mint was just perfect. Gave me shivers after. The Roca was ok, it has a hint of caffeinated flavor which I am not a fan of but still the drink was delightful yet did not hurt the throat.
Cheesecake, etc Branches
Love food, love eating but hate spending for it. That's my dilemma.
